Believe In Your Dream
At some point in any company’s growth, every entrepreneur with a dream faces the same challenges as those who have come before:
Not enough time.
Not enough money.
And not enough good people helping you bring your vision to life.
In my 20 years of business experience, however, I have discovered that these problems always turn out to be symptoms of an underlying, more crucial issue: A lack of belief in the entrepreneur’s vision for the company, which unfortunately, often starts at the top.
And that’s why I found this article from inc.com about Bethenny Frankel’s success both inspiring and educational.
Inspiring, because it’s great to hear a story about something that started out as a little idea and then turned into a business worth $120 million.
And educational, because it serves as an excellent reminder about the importance of a company’s founder not allowing their own belief in what they’re doing to waver.
I hope you enjoy the article!

Roger Harvey, Director of Sales for Shecky’s, comes to our company with experience in many different arenas. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Movement Science at the University of Michigan in 1991, Roger worked for Crunch Fitness International for 13+ years as its Chief Operating Officer. Roger started when the company had less than $2 million in revenue, eventually helping grow the company until it was sold in 2001 for $95 million. Along the way, he managed a team of more than 2,000 employees at more than 20 full-service gyms located in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta and Boston. Roger then turned his attention to his own professional development in the areas of brand development and business management skills while consulting for a variety of ventures.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Roger cites “father of two beautiful daughters” as one of his biggest successes. Always willing to help (he’s a Member of the Board of Directors, Best of Friends Humane Society), Roger even moved to Michigan in 2009 to assist his elderly parents. Now that’s he’s back in NYC and a member of the Shecky’s team, one of his priorities is to help small business vendors take advantage of the many opportunities created by partnering with Shecky’s, providing them with a high ROI for their marketing dollars.
