Yaffa's Tea Room: Longtime favorite Yaffa’s Tea Room draws a diverse crowd of neighborhood workers and residents for all-day dining and late-night cocktails alike. The front bar and rear bi-level tea room sport a yard-sale-at-the-casbah décor, representing an artful, meticulously random assemblage of kitschy fixtures and furniture that makes it pretty much impossible for anything to appear out of place. The cuisine is roughly Mediterranean and features an intriguing selection of tapas and entrées. High tea is served daily, by reservation only, and features a wide selection of loose teas and finger sandwiches…but who are we kidding? On to the alcohol! With just nine bottles of beer and a small selection of wine, Yaffa’s isn’t exactly party central, but its built-in charm and sidewalk seating are worth warming up to. |
