Xunta: Sipping sangria at Xunta, you’ll scan the crowd of attractive, diverse 20-somethings and wonder what it is they see in this place. Netting, blue lights, and dark wooden barrels serve as décor. In back, metal folding chairs and thick plastic tablecloths smack more of fish and chips in a basket than late-night tapas in Spain. Then it hits you. A friendly wait staff serves 54 tapas (all under $10), $2.25 Buds, and wine starting at $3.25. Tuesdays and Wednesdays feature live music, and on Thursdays you’ll catch a spectacular flamenco performance that transforms those conservative cuties in the corner into clapping, hollering, dancing fools. Don’t let that stop you from joining them. That said, don’t you dare bring back the Macarena. |
