Whym
The hipsters behind Hell’s Kitchen hangout Eatery have done it again with Whym, a chic new restaurant that will probably have you waiting just as long for a table as Eatery does. Whym’s stylish décor alone is worth the wait—it’s hard not to look fine in this modern and sleek space with just the right amount of pompous thrown in for good measure. Dark brown banquettes glide in an “S” shape along cream-colored walls. Bright orange and red pillows match the bright orange ceiling accents and glittery, ice blue chandeliers hang above the booths. The “whimsical” violet martini and peanut butter martini will make killing time at the bar for your table a cake walk. And once you get there, comfort food favorites like cheddar chicken pot pie or more adventurous dishes like duck negamaki will remind you why you’re here.

A self proclaimed Eatery fanatic, I was so excited when I found out they were opening another place, perhaps even better than my local favorite. What can I say? Im still a fan. The food was delicious. I had the chicken pot pie, which was not too heavy and definitely hit the spot. Shy away from the violet martinis, though, because once you have one, you absolutely cannot stop drinking them! My favorite new cocktail. Its going to be hard, now, to decide if I should go to Eatery or Whym this Saturday night.
