White Horse Tavern
Once upon a time, Dylan Thomas may have drunk himself to death at the White Horse Tavern. So as long as you steer clear of drinking consecutive shots of whiskey, you should have quite a time at this piece of New York history (they’ve been going strong since 1881!). The White Horse has a wide selection of beers, featuring seven on tap and 13 bottled brews, guaranteeing that you’ll find something to satisfy your palate (and the pub grub is superb). Whether you stop in after work or after midnight, with a group or with a date, the White Horse is always packed with New Yorkers out to have a good time. The assortment gathered here ranges from locals to students to tourists, so you’re sure to meet someone interesting…like a dead poet.
