Whiskey Tavern: Getting wasted in a bar mere steps from Central Booking may seem like bad news, but after spending five minutes in Whiskey Tavern (run by George and Justin Ruotolo of East Village haunt Whiskey Town and Rob Magill), you'll be singing a different tune, and a drunken one, at that. The attractive but approachable bartenders will be treating you like a regular by the time you're on your second shot, and the actual regulars will be chatting your ear off and most likely encouraging you to dance on the bar. It's virtually a Disneyland for drunks, minus the lines—what's not to like? And if for some reason you feel like you're heading into the danger zone, you can always order a burger or satisfy that sweet tooth with a hostess cupcake and a shot of White Russian ($3). Or more whiskey, of course. |
