West Branch: Tom Valenti recently spun off this more casual version of Ouest, and a crowd of locals has already descended. Like Ouest, West Branch offers Valenti's trademark blend of French and Italian cuisine, but at a lower price (all entrees are under $30) and in an entirely relaxed setting. The service is very attentive—servers sing the praises of braised duck gizzards and batter-fried quail, though we went for the excellent Cuban panini and burger. There’s a decent selection of beverages to choose from too, most impressive being the rather extensive wine list. Be warned, though—it gets noisy here, so make sure to go with the non-hearing impaired. Open Mon-Thu. 5-11 p.m., Fri.-Sat. 5 p.m. -midnight, Sun. 5-10 p.m.
