Vintage Irving
The green fairy lands in Gramercy with Vintage Irving. Next to Sidebar, its new sister sports bar, this rustic-meets-contemporary European restaurant and wine bar is complete with the season's biggest trend—an absinthe bar. Busy owner Michael Sinensky (Proof Bar & Lounge, Hudson Terrace, Sidebar, Village Pourhouse) offers a small-plates focus here, served at communal tables. Look for cured meats and imported cheese, and plates such as boquerones (cured anchovies), lobster bisque, chicken meatballs, and fig tempura with vanilla ice cream. A private tasting room seating eight to 12 guests will host for celebrity chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists. Chefs, mixologists, 26 craft beers, European wine selections, unlimited absinthe, and a private room? Talk about buzz-worthy.

20 Wines for $20--AMAZING

The Thrillest posted a list on Vintage Irving and it sounded awesome so I checked it out. I urge you to do the same! The atmosphere is upscale and classy with a wine selection that will blow your mind. The food is served tapa style and allows you to try so many different dishes (get the Duck Prosciutto). And if your into absinthe, this is yourplace

20 wines for $20? Really? This is amazing! They have an amazing wine list so I will be checking this one out for sure on 4/27/09.

ugh

I have never been to a restarant and felt so unwanted. I've gotten better service from McDonalds. I walked in with high hopes, the host was nice enough and the place seemed cute. I'm just amazed at how things took such a turn. My date and I each ordered a drink and then three items to share...our drinks took about fifteen minutes, but they were good so I didn't think anything of it. It wasn't until we eached finished our drinks, the carafe of water and chatted for a good 40 minutes that I started to grow a little impatient. But when our waiter finally showed we ordered two more drinks and two more dishes and figured maybe they were just off to a slow start. It wasn't until 40 minutes later with the first round of empty plates and glasses still littering our table and not even a glimpse of our waiter did I realize how much this place bites. It's one thing to be ignored with a drink in your hand, but really if I wanted to go hungry and thristy I wouldn't pay $150.00 bucks to do it.

Above and Beyond.

The moment my boyfriend and I stepped into this cozy and romantic wine bar, we were welcomed with open arms. From the host, to the waitstaff, everyone was so friendly and inviting. Even the Chef came out to our table and explained the dishes he had just prepared for us. After we finished off our final plates of wild mushroom rice, lobster bisque and chicken meatballs, the Chef sent us a complementary dessert, Fig Tempura. Everything we ordered was amazing. The wine list was a sight for sore eyes. I love a place that gives so many options, because you can't help but to keep coming back for more. Well done Vintage Irving. You have found two regular customers. And we have discovered something wonderful.

Vintage Irving My two cents

So I saw this place listed in NY Times and I live about 5 blocks away and was in the mood to try something new. When I arrived almost all of the tables were full so I seated myself along with my friend. At first I thought maybe I should have waited but I did not see a Host, The astetics of the place is inviting so maybe subconsciencly i seated myself. I was greeted by probably the friendliest guy I ever met in a rest. in my life(zack). He made us feel welcome and relax we did with a cocktail he reccommended with the alchohol absinthe (this is the stuff Van Gogh drank when he cut off his ear) it was really nice with sugar and brazillian rum. The music they were playing was enjoyable some kind of experimental rock and at a good level.Zack asked us what we were in the mood for while he handed us the menu’s and before we could answer he had a server bring us some kind meat and cheese plate (on the house) it wasn’t much but all of a sudden I felt like I was a regular and I was visiting my college buddy. We settled on lobster bisque which looked like a cappucino with steamed milk (to die for) rice balls, octopus,Homemade Potato Gnocchi. Everything was very good. We had jelly doughnuts for dessert. I think with tip our bill was under $60. I am happy to give this place a positive review. We ended up staying after and going next door to their sister lounge but I forget the name, and of course we were escorted by Zach. Thank you Vintage Irving we will be back
