“Let’s go upstairs” now has a whole new meaning; and with all the buzz surrounding this clandestine hotspot, you’d think it was better than sex. (Ooh, baby!) Obnoxiously named simply “Upstairs Bar,” big-time party promoter Danny A hoped to keep this VIP spot a secret for his A-List friends. And um, he couldn’t have chosen a more unassuming locale than above generic Italian lunch spot, Café Bari. (Random!) With four curtains between the actual space and the bouncer, you’ve gotta have clout to get in here (or be bangin' the doorman at least). Despite its cred and clientele, the place looks no better than your local dive; but the price of the drinks will quickly remind you that it isn’t. If you can finagle your way in, do it soon before the B & T infiltrate.

Too bad I can't give this place a 0. Extremly rude bouncers and the place itself is trash.

Hello everyone, seems that waking through chinatown streets is safer than the bar upstairs.
This past friday evening I was at the bar with seven friends, I was meeting this amazing guy, I open my cheap $60.00 coach purse and gave him my bussiness card, he text message me to meet again,my phone was inside my coat, then I left my purse, for 1 minute resting at the bar next to my drink,I turned my back to the bar,it took me 30 seconds, just to say see you later to him. I turned and my purse was stolen, the woman bartender was very agresive to me,seems she liked my guy, she say she did not see anything, how come to say that to your all night client, anyways, I phoned right away the blackberry (was inside my purse) took them to answer ten minutes, a very agressive a guy answered that this blackberry was at the bar, he gave me the blackberry stolen from inside my purse. The weird, my credit cards, my keys, my ID, my metro card, was gone, he say "someone give him the blackberry from the floor". I doubt it, bigtime!! I told the manager to review the camera footage after 3:36am march 22 (the time this nice guy texted me) to see who stole my purse, he agree but never returned me back a call, I went 2 times to the "bar" that is a burger shop during the day this week, without news.

Think bad and you will be right!! Guys Girls, be careful with the crowd that works there, they seem to be protected by the manager to do whatever they want. I bet the owner doesn't know.

Honestly if you go, you have a limited great time, come on grab a a $60.00 dollars purse is ridiculous, but to wake up my roomy is priceless.

If you happen to go, do not bring cards, keys or phone, is like going to the rollercoaster hahahahaha!! I guess is my price to go to an upscale burger shop!!

Last night my friend's wallet was taken from her bag and found dumped behind a curtain, without cash. A second girl had the same thing, found her wallet in the bathroom. Both without cash. The crowd looks like a bunch of thieves.

we went to this bar for new year's eve and it was the worst new year's experience that i've ever had. after spending way to much money for a "vip" table, we had to wait outside for 30 minutes, because the bar opened an hour later than the tickets said. then, i was forced to take off my jacket after walking up the filthy staircase, because they had a MANDATORY COAT CHECK in place, where they made you pay $5 and give them your coat.

keep in mind the tickets for the table were $500/person.

we found our table for 8, which was only the small end of a bench with a tiny table. they served us PLASTIC cups, and did not pour a single drink for us. the service was horrible. i asked for real glasses, and was told we couldn't have them. we had to drink our grey goose out of plastic beer cups. the only nice people in the entire place were the bus boys, other than that the service was horrible.

there was no regulation to the "vip" area...so my midnight it was so crowded, my feet had been stepped on 3 times, and random people were drinking our bottles.

having such a horrible experience at this place, we decided to leave by 1:00.

oh, and another thing...they had 2 bathroom stalls for the entire place, so if you had to go it was a 30 minute wait each time.

horrible, horrible, horrible...i would never go into this bar again even if someone paid me.

This place was the hardest place to get in to and when you walk in all you see is graffiti all over the walls. If you're going to chill in this area, there are far better places to bring your friends to than this. The guys at the door were rude and when we got in, it wasn't worth it. Very expensive too.
