Unwined @ Symphony Space: Finally, there’s a joint on upper Broadway that isn’t a seedy gift shop or 99-cent store. Symphony Space got wise to the wine bar trend and turned part of their ground floor into a sorely needed local hot spot. This winner is the brainchild of Café Gray’s director of operations, Gil Rubenstein. There's a menu of small plates and appetizers, as well as a diverse wine list and a selection of small-brewery bottled craft beers. Stop in for free music on Wednesdays and Thursdays, or go for one of the regular specials, like all-you-can-drink sangria on Fridays or $15 bottles of wine on Sundays. Winos gotta love it. |
