Uncle Jack's Steakhouse: Do you know what this city needs? Another steakhouse. Wait…scratch that—we’re set. Posh, masculine, and one of NYC’s elite meateries, these three-room confines will leave your stomach full and your wallet empty. A well-tended 25-foot mahogany bar in the front of the room hosts conventioneers, MSG ticket holders, and high rollers who sip martinis and watch plasma-screen TVs while awaiting their dinner parties. Downstairs, a plush, red main dining room welcomes groups, but behind the glass doors in the back of the room is a “study,” which is rented by really big spenders who still have something to prove after dropping $85 on the amazing porterhouse for two. Upstairs, a more intimate balcony-styled dining room welcomes couples, but nobody leaves Uncle Jack’s feeling light and sexy. |
