Ulysses
Named both for Joyce’s Dubliner and the Grecian Odysseus, the pun perhaps falls on disinterested ears; here, you floss with monetary figures, not lit theory. This after-work meat market is packed with movers and shakers seeking to let their crew-cut down. The beer list is ample with some “worldly” choices like Corona, but they do have selections from Sam Smyth. The food is a mix of Greek choices alongside upscale pub fare. They serve up generous portions, so come hungry or with a group. Specials on lobster night and beer flight night offer additional incentives. But the bottom line is, if you want to feel like you’re on the floor of the NYSE, elbow your way toward the bar and try your damndest to get the attention of the bartender: Buy! Buy! Buy!

Whenever I find myself down in this part of town, I always make an effort to visit Ulysses. Sometimes my efforts are wasted because its just too crowded; however, when I do get through the door, I am leave content. Not just because of the constant flow of beer, but the company as well.
