Trinity Public House
Ah, the blessed trinity—beer, jukeboxes, and…skiing? This relatively polished bar is just far enough off of Second and Third Avenues’ stretches of stench to discourage fat ex-frats from wandering in on a late-night crawl, which keeps it relatively safe for local yuppies—aka, the UES’s “other” white meat. During the winter Trinity’s upwardly mobile crowd quite literally goes downhill. This bar is well-known for its group ski trips, which make it a bit of a resort in its own right. The brick-lined interior of this wee place exudes a ski lodge sense of community as well; young and old locals come to escape the area’s alternatives, which seem to be more beer- and belch-oriented. Single women can enjoy British Isle beer at Trinity without being hassled.
