The Slipper Room: The Slipper Room is no misnomer. On a Saturday night, you’ll find a woman wearing slippers—only slippers. Live entertainment, including burlesque, abounds in this sultry, sexy bar. Take your eyes off the show momentarily (which also includes music and comedy, so get your mind out of the gutter) and you’ll notice the unexpectedly hip décor—velvet banquettes and elliptical lampshades under a hammered (and yes, hot) tin roof. Catch this place too late at night, and it feels sordid and hollow. Enter during prime time on the right night and you could be hootin’ and hollerin’. It’s a good idea to find out before you slip in. |
