The Shark Bar:
Like spotting a shark in the ocean only to discover it’s your kid brother with a fin strapped to his back, Shark Bar is actually more of a restaurant than a bar. The menu consists of an uninspired mix of soul, Cajun, and Southern fried fare, and the restaurant appears to be going for an upscale thing. The atmosphere is classy and the Harlem Renaissance photography is a nice touch. But though it’s clean and neat, it’s far too muted to have much authentic charm. It almost feels like they never got around to hanging up the rest of the bells and whistles. A Shark with no bite? How ironic.
