The Production Lounge: Lights, camera…drink? This new Greenpoint lounge seems out of sync with the countless dive bars and hipster hangouts that line the area, catering to a Hollywood crowd for whom "Bronx" is a kewl baby name, not a vaguely scary borough. Nevertheless, it attracts those who can’t seem to get enough of themselves with karaoke Mondays and live band performances Friday nights. A sleek spiral staircase leads to a chandelier-lit, bottle serviced upper level for the shy ones to watch the action. The Performance Lounge goes a bit over-the-top with the Hollywood movie idea—red velvet ropes, reel decorations and one too many TVs—that keeps theme-a-phobic hipsters at a distance, but maybe the Lower East Side visitors will pay the bar a visit. 35mm antipasto by the reel, anyone?
