The Porch Bar: At first sight, the Porch Bar may seem like any of your other East Village haunts, but make your way through the boozing crowd to the upstairs lounge and you’ll be whisked away from the claustrophobic dive bars and dance clubs of Avenue C into a world where fireplaces actually burn wood and wrought iron chandeliers hang from ceilings as high as 30 feet. In the summertime, a love swing and picnic tables in two outdoor spaces are the perfect setting to enjoy two-for-one drink specials (which can be upped to three-for-one if you’re lucky enough to be doing shots with one of the sexy bartenders).
