The Parlour: The Parlour is very much in the style of the Irish pub/restaurants on the East Side that cater more to corpo-rate types. In other words, it’s a wee bit overpriced. Pints run almost $6; the typical shepherd’s pie, burgers, and fish and chips fare is fine but hardly stand out; and unless there’s a crowd, the place can feel vacant. There’s a downstairs bar for private parties and the occasional spastic fit of dancing to whatever embarrassing ’80s nostalgia song fills the air. Karaoke and live bands have become frequent happenings, as well. Unless you’re a Celtic soccer fan (and you might be), this is essentially a place for well-off ex-sorority girls and the sharks in business casual who love them. |
