The Palm Tribeca: Steakhouses are a dime a dozen in FiDi, and with nearby standouts like Dylan Prime, the just-opened Palm TriBeCa faces competition stiffer than the martinis served at their massive, 45-seat bar. But a lucky locale, right across from the World Financial Center, makes it a convenient spot for suits to swill, aided by a beefy 200-bottle wine list. The market's no laughing matter, but forlorn finance-types will find levity in the hand-painted murals, celeb caricatures, and Beetle Bailey cartoons that cover the walls. Chef Luis Nieto prepares The Palm's usual swoon-worthy steaks and Nova Scotia lobsters ($62 for a three-pounder), while patrons schmooze at comfy wood booths inside the classically masculine dining area. At 9,000 square feet, it's the largest of the four NYC locations. Come for lunch, or if you're one of the few without maxed-out plastic, their private party room is perfect for your next chic soiree. Open Mon.-Sat. 3pm-11pm, Sun. 5pm-10pm.
