If you want to feel like a robber baron, buy an $11 cocktail and sneer down on Rivington Street's holdout candy shops from the windows of the Hotel on Rivington's swanky but petite second-floor bar, outfitted with deep-cushioned kiwi-green seating. The bar stocks top bourbons and Scotches to enjoy while you wait for a table at Thor, Kurt Gutenbrunner's fancy-schmancy new restaurant on the ground floor, but, sleek decor aside, there's not much else to keep you here if you're not a hotel guest, and even then you'll be wondering why you're hanging out in a bar that doubles as an enclave for Kellogg's- and coffee-swilling visitors during the continental breakfast.
