The Edge: The saying “go home early or go home ugly” does not apply at The Edge, being that the lights are left only slightly dimmed the whole night. Although there is no shield of darkness, it isn’t needed in this ultra-relaxed and attitude-free setting. This bar has been open for close to 20 years and has witnessed the transformation of the East Village from the mid-’80s bohemian hideaway to well, whatever it is now. The walls are covered with exposed brick, and dartboards take over a portion of the room; there’s also a pool table and board games for those who can’t get enough play time. It’s easy to make new friends here, and by the end of the night everyone will be chipping in to have a late-night pizza delivered to the bar. |
