The Eagle: The Eagle has landed in Chelsea, and it’s wearing a leather harness. And from the size of the crowd, The Eagle’s patrons are hardly an endangered species. They pack this joint, especially during Sunday’s beer blast from 5pm to midnight. In the summer, the crowd overflows onto the outdoor roof deck, where bears can devour hot dogs, burgers, and chicken. Leather, denim, and other fetish-wear are popular with the older men that frequent this two-level bar, especially on Thursday’s “Code” night, when the bar enforces a strict dress code upstairs. Left your chaps at the cleaners? Luckily, there’s a Leather Man store inside the bar. Also luckily, Wednesday’s “Chub Club” party won’t make you feel like you’ve committed a homo-cide by gaining a few extra pounds. |
