The Cub Room: Claiming the former glory of the Stork Club as its own, the Cub Room was built in the image of its namesake, which was the inner sanctum of the high-falutin’ club to the stars. This version’s a two-part show—one side has a relaxed feel with exposed brick, pub tables, and after-work chatter brewing at the bar. The other side’s all glamour and luxe leather lounge chairs. Either room’s gonna have the audacity to charge $8 for a pint of Amstel. The $12-$15 cocktail menu alludes to the grandeur of yore: order a Clark Gable, Bette Davis, or the Knickerbocker, the Stork’s notorious take on the Manhattan. |
