The Barclay Bar and Grill: Located in the lobby of the Intercontinental Barclay Hotel, Barclay’s Bar and Grill is a throwback to the days before hotel bars were the chic, design-heavy, celeb magnets they are today. Barclay’s goes for a clubby, woody look and feel that makes the middle aged business travelers and other out-of-towners feel classy and comfortable while they enjoy their midtown stay. As such, there’s no particular reason to stop by here, but if you’re staying in the hotel or if you’re doing a midtown hotel lobby bar crawl, you might enjoy Barclay’s hefty specialty martinis and old-school charm. At the very least, Barclay’s cozy, subdued atmosphere is quite romantic, which makes the hotel rooms upstairs rather convenient. |
