The Abbey Pub

With a name like The Abbey, this bar has a lot to live up to. The Abbey Theatre was the great center for intellectual debate, Westminster Abbey, the great architectural design, and Edward Abbey, the great nature writer. Fortunately, this pub is worthy of the name, as The Abbey Pub will forever more go down in history as the great spot for popcorn chicken and a beer. A low-key pub with grub, this is a favorite hangout spot for both Columbia students as well as an older crew of regulars. Customers can choose between a seat at the bar or enjoy a more quiet setting at one of the booth tables.

a landmark

I've been going to the Abbey Pub for almost a decade and while the pretentious attitudes of the students has gotten worse, the beer selection, food, and service has grown better with age.
