Terra Blues: Considering the state of world affairs, rising gas prices, and global warming, it’s surprising that there isn’t a worldwide blues movement. Chicago may be the capital of the blues (considering NYC’s vast fathering, we’ll give Chicago that), but the Windy City doesn’t have Terra Blues. It seems every night gives way to sultry blues; from good to amazing, it will never disappoint. Wispy terra cotta banshees embellish the brick, frozen in time and space above cabaret-style seating. Cute waitresses deliver drinks from a full bar that offers just about everything. Don’t be turned off by the fact that most patrons are over 30 and white. This place has soul—and legit blues.
