Tao:
This booming three-story palace of pan-Asian lifestyle has a bar scene to match its club-like dining room. Perpetually packed, Tao does its best to keep the liquor (including its sake flights) flowing and the on-the-house bowls of wasabi peas filled. The first-floor bar is wall-to-wall pretty young things from 6pm on, while the more subdued second floor offers a spectacular view of the restaurant’s 16-foot-tall Buddha and a chance to people-watch among the restaurant’s trendy diners. Although Tao doesn’t attract quite as many A-listers as it did when it opened in 2000, it’s still a top spot to see and be seen.
So I went to Tao for lunch. I felt like i was being rush. The server was deficient, inattentive and messed up in order. In like 45 minutes , we were done with the three course. In addition, I ended up going to the wrong restroom (the men's). The server did not explain yin and yang to be, so as I was walking out of the bathroom, a man walked in, we were both shocked. I would say if you want asian food, go to the nearest Chinesse take out. You can take as long as you want eating and enjoying it. Only go there if your in a rush and willing to eat something you did not order.

David Hasselhoff at the next table proves that the stars aren't all gone, but Tao maybe passing its prime. Food here is decent, the bar is fun and full of fun people but also wannabes jumping on the big buddha bandwagon. Restaurants this huge always remind me of the Cheesecake factory, anyway.
