T.G. Whitney’s: TG Whitney’s has seen better days. Even though this long, spacious bar is located just off the frantic, thumping strip of popular post-college frat boy bars on Second Avenue in the mid-50s, its unremarkable décor, music, and tap offerings leave it wanting for customers. Things might change when TG Whitney’s opens up its second-floor patio in time for spring, giving it coveted outdoor space that’s slightly removed from exhaust fumes. But until then, the only reason to give TG’s a try is if you’ve got a big party, don’t mind the standard array of brews, and are at a loss for anything else. |
