Swizz Restaurant & Bar: Ever feel like you missed out on the fondue fun of the 1970s? (Just humor us.) Well, just like John Travolta, fondue is back and better than ever, especially at Swizz. The street-level dining area of Hell’s Kitchen’s cozy Swizz restaurant features fanciful work by artist James de la Vega and a wine wall where over 45 bottles are on display. The downstairs wine cave shows off more vintages that pair with classic American and Swiss dishes like fondue—beef, chocolate, and of course, cheese—white veal sausage, and Raclettte cheese, a specialty of the Swiss Valais. Half of a cheese wheel is heated and held up so that gooey fromage drips down onto a plate like a melting cheese waterfall. Everyone likes a comeback. |
