Sweet Paradise Lounge: Owned by the same folks that have made retro dive Welcome to the Johnsons so darn successful, Sweet Paradise’s idea of reminiscent fun can be found in Connect Four at the bar. Look for hipsters hanging out front smoking under the black awning, while the nightly DJ’s tunes drift out the door. Every night happy hour gets you drinks averaging around $5 or less. This former karaoke-bar-turned-candy-shop has opted for dark colors, utilizing the dimly lit space and furthering the ambiance with dark barstools and leather booths for lounging around. It’s a good night-ender for the Lower East Sider in all of us. |
