 Birthdays, Graduations, etc.... Found this under the radar hot spot when a friend had her birthday at Sutra a couple months ago... I just graduated and was looking for a place to celebrate. I remembered the amazing personal service my friend recieved. Served her cake and champagne, shout outs at the DJ booth.... We had about 75 people, and everyone got in no problem. We did an open bar for two hours cause we couldnt beat the price, and the room was exclusively ours. The DJ was off the hook and played Hip Hop, Latin, Reggae even Rock n' Roll. We celebrated all nite and were treated like gold by the entire staff...my friends and I love this place and look to it as our #1 spot for all our parties...you wont be disappointed! I received multiple compliments on everything from the location and space, to the decor, to the music and especially on the bartender Menelik (he was wonderful). I know everyone had a great time and that's all I really hoped for. I feel the party was a huge success and you have been nothing but accommodating throughout the entire process, so again, thank you so much. I will definitely be adding Sutra to my list! It's a bit small but I definitely found my way to the dancefloor and bar. I never heard of it or been there before, but I'm glad I was clueless and tried something new. It's got the eclectic East Village vibe and the crowd is 100% mutt. You have everyone from 35 year old tattoo artists to 23 year old analysts. The drinks are strong and plentiful, the prices are reasonable and the service is truly what makes this place shine. Go for drinks with an open-minded crew, but leave the friends who insist on Justin Timberlake on the sound system and quiet conversation at home. I don't expect everyone to know my name, but they remembered my face and my party. I had my bday party there and we all had fun. I went back a few months later and had so much fun.
