Suba: This may just be the cocktails talking, but Suba is one of the most romantic restaurant/lounges in town. Recently renovated by the team behind Mas and the Inn LW12, the LES Spanish hotspot is looking more bonita than ever with a new menu, exposed ceiling beams, and new gold and red decor. The small bar area upstairs is always crowded, generally with people waiting for their tables in one of the amazingly designed lower level’s two rooms. Light apps are available up there, but for Spanish and Latin American cuisine spanning traditional tapas and sizeable entrées, including very good duck, descend the iron staircase and look for water. The main dining area is surrounded by a shimmering moat. Monday’s movie night is pretty popular and Flamenco Sundays tend to do okay in their own right. |
