A Beautiful Space! Stonewall, after all these years, is still a very relevant fixture of queer New York. The place was recently renovated and it shines! The beautiful wooden bar has been restored, and there are photographs that adorn the walls, reminding patrons of the historic location they are in. I especially like the etched glass pane that separates the back lounge area from the bar in the front, on the main floor. The upstairs dance club is opening sometime around the first day of June this year, and I am looking forward to seeing it post-renovation. This bar finally is getting the attention it deserves, no longer being a seedy hole-in-the-wall pickup joint. This is now the real deal, and displays gay New York with proud affection.
