Stone Street Tavern: Originally an American cafeteria called Stone Street Tavern, then a French bistro, and now the born-again pub, Stone Street Tavern is one bar that plans on sticking around for awhile. This place takes full advantage of its historic surroundings and offers outdoor seating on one of Manhattan’s first paved streets. The low-lit bar offers traditional Irish entrees and a lengthy list of seafood specialties along with high brow treatment of low brow bar food (thinks cheese plates, sliders, and kebobs). And it wouldn't be Irish without Guinness on tap and in the drinks. Knock back a Dirty Hoe (Hoegaarden and Guinness) with some of the Wall Street fallout and get ‘stoned’…the historical way. |
