STK: STK has the Meatpacking at its absolute meatiest, and the results are bloody good. Like the iCrave-designed room itself, executive chef Todd Mark Miller isn’t doing anything you haven’t seen before, but his straightforward steakhouse menu (with seafood as well) aims to satisfy rather than shock, and might we say…Mmmm. Steaks come in small, medium, and large, with the big ones being of Flintstone proportions and the smaller ones better suited for those wishing to party downstairs at Tenjune afterwards. Sides are pretty standard, with the thick and well-seasoned fries being recommended. The shadowy, industrial, brick and iron design fits well into this neighborhood of cobblestone roads and old factories and the desperately scene-seeking crowd is exactly what one would expect here. Desserts are limited, but the chocolate cake is a perfect end to a pricey night of general over-indulgence. Couples here do okay with smaller window seats while bigger groups might prefer one of the mid-room semi-crescent booths. |
