St. Dymphna’s: There are restaurants and bars that make a great point of proclaiming how Irish they are by covering the walls with Guinness ads and overdoing St. Patrick’s Day as if Hallmark had invented it. St. Dymphna’s on the other hand actually has an Irish clientele, real Irish food, and an atmosphere that doesn’t come off as at all contrived or themey. With a bright, spacious interior and a garden in the back, this pub is welcoming in all seasons. If you bring in your iPod, the friendly bartender will often be happy to hook it up to the stereo system and play your mixes. If you come at 4pm you can take advantage of both brunch, which is served until 5, and happy hour, which ends at 7. |
