Southside: Southside (formerly known as Bella’s), is one of the few Manhattan clubs that manages to pack in true born-and-bred New Yorkers. You’ll feel like everyone knows each other at this prep-magnet, where blazers, bowties, and Vogue-ettes are aplenty (and, of course for good measure, a few euros à la Stavros Niarchos, who we recently spotted). Though the clientele that frequents this diminutive spot can most certainly afford a table in any one of the city’s hotspot boites, Southside isn’t all about the table service. With seating kept off to the side or in little nooks, and the bar located in the back, expect most of the space to be filled with chain-smocking, champagne-sipping patrons dancing to beats picked by an exceptional DJ remixing everything from funk to '80s to old-school rap classics. If you don’t know anyone who knows anyone at the door, get to Southside early, because this hotspot fills up fast. Open Thu.-Sat., 6pm-4am. |
