Sorella: Never has a wine bar felt more homey and down-to-earth than Sorella. This space, with its warm, bottle-adorned walls, is a welcome addition to Allen Street's current lineup of cheap dumpling spots and kitschy restaurants. (Congee Village glows across the way in all of its gaudy glory). The menu of small plates (including risotto, $13, and grilled quail, $14), cheeses, and desserts, paired with a deep selection of wine and bubbly by the bottle or glass, will satisfy even the most upscale LES palate. Sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy the warm, friendly vibe, sing-along rock music, and the charming, laid-back staff. If all waiters in Manhattan had the welcoming attitude, the attention to glass-filling detail, and the good looks that these guys have, the struggling actor/musician contingent would take a serious hit. Open Mon.-Sat., 3pm-2am.
