SoFo: SoFo attracts working-class folks with cheap beers and liquors—like the generous 6pm-10pm happy hour—a pool table, backyard, good grub, and an unpretentious vibe. So unpretentious, in fact, that it doesn’t have any working taps, or a soda gun. Its unassuming location is short for “South of Fourth”; because it’s near the BQE, F line, and local businesses, it often gets busy post-midnight when the regulars finish work, craving a burger and beer. The small bar, tended by a friendly barmaid, is boldly painted, with blue walls, yellow ceiling, and curious life-sized caricatures along the wall who, with glasses a-clinkin’ and heads thrown back in laughter, are probably having more fun than you are. But don’t sweat it: They’re not real. SoFo, however, most definitely is. |
