Soda Bar: Soda Bar is a treasure of space. The bar room has a vintage feel (down to the jukebox), small tables for diners, and a raised, hardwood-floored sitting area. But if you think that’s a cozy spot for a beer (and the lengthy selection is varied here), wait until you see the seasonal bi-level patio and the (indoor) red-and-gold, brick-and-plaster lounge. Casual groupings of sofas, easy chairs, and coffee tables dot the huge space, resembling an antique garage sale; the room lends itself well to Monday night movie showings and weekend DJs. Other times, the hum of conversation and background music fills the air—a perfect setting for lounging, eating, drinking, even reading. But really, the room was made for parties. If you’re smart, you’ll find an excuse to throw one. |
