Society: This pub used to be Newgate, and though it hasn’t reinvented the wheel, the presence of a large outdoor seating area is hard to pass up. Hordes of after-workers and after-classers crowd the outdoor benches, nibbling on sliders that are washed down with Hoegaardens. (The menu is surprisingly pricey, but then again, so is NYU.) Step inside for a completely different vibe. A large, dark room with mirrored walls offers a clubbier atmosphere of candlelit booths and 50 Cent tunes, though on sunny days most will only use it as a pathway to the bathroom. |
