Shade: Crepes are best eaten in Paris, but if you’re stuck in Greenwich Village, the ones at Shade will certainly suffice—especially when you wash those suckers down with a cosmo. This cozy bar is a great place to catch up with a friend or exchange some friendly banter with the barkeep. Velvet banquettes and about a half dozen tables—which always seem to be filled with youngish, but not NYU-aged, patrons—take up the majority of space. Tunes have an ’80s sensibility, and to the left of the bar is a New York equivalent of a drive-thru: a take-out window serving crepes to go. |
