Shachis: Arepas (corn cakes common in Latin cuisine) are one of life's great pleasures, to the initiated at least, and you'd be hard pressed to find a more cheerful or convenient place to enjoy them than Shachis. Owner Pedro Boyer and chef/co-owner (and Boyer's brother-in-law) Alan Rodriguez offer up enticing interpretations of all manner of Latin American comfort foods, but you can't beat the lunch special—an arepa, plantain chips, and juice for $7. Que rico!
