Sequoia: After-work parties (5:30pm-2am) and a magnificent view draw the hordes to Sequoia during the summer months. Sitting on their second-floor balcony with a margarita in hand, you can gaze toward the Brooklyn promenade or Governor’s Island, noting the departures of dutiful ferries, water taxis, and helicopters while you idly chat and drink yourself giddy. The menu is expansive, but uninventive (beware of laminated menus), consisting mostly of fish, pasta, and dressed-up sandwiches that are all more or less disappointing. Stop by after work or bring out-of-town friends to enjoy the view at sunset, then promptly leave. |
