Señor Swanky’s: CLOSED.
The place is no more Señor than it is Swanky. Are giant and terrifying chili peppers hanging over the bar supposed to denote Mexican food? This place is more small-town college bar than Mexican cantina, and the food tastes like it. There’s nothing authentic about this place, much like the equally lame Caliente Cab, but Swanky’s doesn’t even get the after-work crowd the former does. There are drink specials often, and the sidewalk seating makes it a decent place to grab an impulsive margarita during warm weather months. Other than that, do yourself a favor and hit any of the better-tasting and more genuinely fun Mexican spots around town…like Taco Bell. |
