There’s nothing modest about the TriBeCa Grand and its newest lounge is no exception. Somewhat of a VIP room to the opulent Church Lounge, Sanctum is a sight to behold. This mid-sized room with Frank Lloyd Wright inspired décor, executed to near-perfection by William Sofield, is rightfully on its way to being one of the City’s most talked about hotel bars. Angular furniture crafted from tiger oak and peppered with bronze accents sets the stage for a vintage cocktail menu that was researched and assembled by Sasha Petraske, who is the brilliant mixologist behind the fabled speakeasy, Milk & Honey. Bottle service is offered by a shockingly accomodating staff and the price tags are surprisingly fair-- the fashion police guarding the velvet ropes at the 6th Avenue and Church Lounge entrances don’t make the same guarantee. Our advice-- CALL FOR RESERVATIONS, dress respectfully, and excessively "sample" the world-class cocktail menu, which features the incomparable Dark and Stormy and the purrrfect Cat's Meow.
