Salumeria Rosi: This Italian meat market/restaurant/mini bar is the latest gourmet food store to enter the UWS. The interior set-up is pure eye candy (as long as you're not veg), with exotic meats hanging from the ceiling and on display in glass encasements all around. There’s an intimate seating area in the back with a bar that can almost squeeze in 10 skinny people. As far as the meals, the portion sizes are like tapas of tapas. And don’t be fooled by prices either, thinking that the more you pay, the bigger the portion. The theme here is that you pay for quality, not quantity. There’s plenty to choose from, whether it be meats, greens, beer or wine—and the quality is excellent. So good, in fact, you’ll find yourself wishing you could enjoy more than just four bites of, say, a spare rib dish. Open Sun.-Tue. noon-10:30pm, Wed.-Thu. noon-11pm.
