Sakae Sushi West Village
On the heels of its Midtown location, conveyor belt sushi scoots downtown. Singapore’s version of fast food means instant gratification for all of your better-than-average raw fish needs. A 61-foot belt loops from the kitchen to booth seating, rolling out fresh sushi at recession-friendly prices (plates are either $1.90, $3.90, or $6.90). As with the Grand Central outpost, expect interactive menu screens and instant hot water taps (for tea, not bathing) at each table in a cafeteria-like setting—perfect for the gadget-wielding, short-attention-span NYU set. Extra credit if you play Sushi Go Round while the sushi goes 'round.

Hairy sushi! :(

I went here after getting a message from Sheckys about it opening, and wish I didn't.

There was a big long black hair wrapped around my sushi rice and under the fish. How can you miss that? This was ordered off the menu, not from the conveyor belt too. The wait staff was friendly and apologetic but my appetite was ruined and I will never go back.

There is very limited and unappealing items on the conveyor belt, not even a basic spicy tuna roll.

The portions are very small and overpriced, including thinly sliced mediocre quality fish.

You should not waste your time here, the food is not good and it is overpriced and inferior quality.
