Ryan’s Daughter:
Ryan’s Daughter feels kind of like your aunt’s living room—warm, familiar, and filled with old folks. Scattered black and white pictures on the walls lend a sense of history; Ryan’s has been here for the last 25 years, but its address has been home to one bar or another for the last six or seven decades. Tables in the back are topped with complimentary bags of potato chips—a quirky yet oddly inviting touch—but longtime regulars tend to congregate in the front. Ryan’s isn’t your college-town Irish pub—they don’t offer happy hour deals for penny-pinching recent grads. But beers are still reasonable at $3 to $4 a pop, and even though this place caters to neighborhood veterans, there’s no reason to be afraid to join the seasoned crowd.
The best place in Manhattan for a night of shots and dancing. Beers are cheap, the crowd is friendly and the service is top notch. Getting on the pool table is impossible though thanks to their mysterious rules of Pawar.
