Roseland Ballroom: We’re all for catching little-known rock bands in dingy clubs with the room capacity of a lunch box, but sometimes it’s nice to see a group that actually has a CD out—without getting trampled by 10,000 screaming fans at Madison Square Garden in the process. Thankfully, Roseland Ballroom, with its intimate space and big-name roster, offers music fans the chance to contemplate Jack White’s hairstyle from just a few feet away. Standing-room-only floor sections are available, drinks are served, and ticket prices vary according to who’s playing, so it’s safe to assume that Bob Dylan went for a lot more than Jet.
